Hiatus

2018 has been the most fulfilling/painful year thus far. My art career is on the upturn, I am fulfilled through my work and it seems there is an understanding within my field. However, there is also entropy. Costs of travel, materials, less sleep, within my personal life a painful loss in relationship and a large change within my family. These have built a fevered exhaustion that can only be alleviated through taking a step back.

I feel there needs to be a change in the way I work. My motivations and research have built a fine vehicle propelling my work. Although, I feel my work has stagnated. It doesn't come from a place of introspection but a place of passive reactionary dissonance that for me bears no fruit. Changes need to occur. I have been exploring new communities, relationships and diving into emotional intelligence as a precursor to the Phenomenological aspects I utilize currently; So, I'm taking a break.

I'm not stopping production by no means and I'll still keep updates with upcoming shows (There are a few upcoming I'm hype for but can't say much yet!). However, there has been a noticeable difference through social media. I realized that I haven't done what I wanted to do in awhile. In hindsight, it feels like a bloodied rat race fueled through caffeinating with no discernable end. Wake, work, sleep, repeat. After two years of this, monotony murdered the motivation.

There will be a noticeable leave of absence through social media. I have made travel plans for this month and the next, towards the development of my research. I will be recharging my batteries, questioning the charter, reasoning, motivations of my shifting emotional and creative landscape. Not to mention the upcoming move has gotten me a bit antsy. I'll be blogging occasionally to chronicle my travels that will all be here on my website.

In conclusion, I'm excited, exhausted and definitely ready to make a change sooner than later. I have grown irritated, disenchanted (Slightly impatient lol) of who, where and what consists of my routines. If you have any questions or feedback don't be afraid to message me here or through email, I'll respond posthaste. In turn, thank you for the people that continue to support me, it means more than you know. It's time to see what else is in store for me.
